Beat the Summer Slump Events

 

May 30 -- Annual Book Swap

We will start collecting gently used books from home May 1.

May 28 – 31 -- 10 Books Check Out To Beat the Summer Slump!

Students of all grade levels who have parent permission & have not lost or damaged library books, will be allowed to come in the library to Check Out 10 library books to read over the summer. This is a great way to read those ever-popular (always checked out) library books and continue Reading Success.

Parent permission forms will be available in the library & at the front office.

June 12 – July 31 – BHC Library Open For Summer Check Out

For seven Tuesday evenings in the summer, volunteer teachers will be opening our BHC Library to students & their parents to check out library books for Summer Reading! BHC Students of all grade levels are welcome, as long as they are accompanied by a parent or high school sibling. Hours will be 6:30 – 7:30 pm. What a great way to Beat the Summer Slump! Please note that July 31 will be will be returning library books only, no Check Out on that night.

This is a great way to read those ever-popular (always checked out) library books and continue Reading Success.

Library Website > Red Star > there will be a “Summer Reading - Beat the Summer Slump” tab that will have games, activities, a listing of local business & public libraries offering reading programs (all have games, free tickets, coupons, etc. for students to be awarded for their reading).

Don’t forget that our school also has their own “My Free Little Library” with books available for swapping throughout the summer. It is located in the front of the school, by the flagpole. Take a book, share a book!
